Meredith Kermicle Designs

I’m Meredith Kermicle.

I grew up mostly in Monterey County, CA and left at 19 when I joined the Army and was fortunate to be in Italy for the next 5 years.  After that I worked as a psychotherapist for close to 20 years before quitting to open a yarn store in Murfreesboro, TN.

In 45+ years spent in other places, this place was always the home I wished to come back to. The beauty of this state has always been an inspiration to me, so in 2024 I moved to Eureka, CA.

I primarily work with fibers, dyeing and spinning yarn & fabric and weaving, knitting or crocheting. I’ve worked in several mediums over the years - clay, textiles, paper and books - and returned to painting and collage about 4 years ago.

Art is play for me, I experiment with techniques and ideas and the results are sometimes whimsical, sometimes serious, usually abstract and about the feeling of a place or time.  I rarely give titles to works; I find the insights and stories the viewer comes up with so interesting.
